*slowly shakes head in disgust and reaches for the blood bank ep*
And stop making threads about it.
the perils of having a job that doesn't involve sitting in front of a computer eh?
are people just saying it's good in an ironic/contrarian type way? i thought people would probably start saying it was good in an ironic way.
i'm just glad it's right at the end so i can delete it and not feel like i'm tampering too much with the tracklisting.
I listened to the entire album for the first time and every track seemed pretty great to me. Perhaps I'll come to learn to hate it.
maybe it's because i had the advantage of hearing it before i actually knew it was bon iver.
'what the fuck is this shit....*looks at artist*....oh. oh my.
After it leaked.
Personally I don't mind it, but don't really want to listen to it that much. As you say it's right at the end, easy to skip.
pass comment at the point when most people have actually had a chance to listen to it, and you're just going over old ground.
imagine if i started a thread about it on the actual release date!
i might as well just walk around going 'WAAAAAAAASSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP'
I meant to add in my comment that DiS's search is kinda sucky, so didn't expect you to try and find it. There is a thread about todays stream on the first page though.
I know it only streamed today... Honestly, I think it's a great little track and despite the stylistic shift it seems to blend in as a nice little epilogue. I genuinely believe the album would be weaker without it, and I think its a pretty great album as it stands.
Most albums seem to have at least one weak track, and that specific track isn't that bad.
most great albums probably have a weak, if you like that word, track that isn't quite as transcendent as the rest.
but the nature of this particular song is more like enjoying a lovely ham sandwich until the final bite at which point the ham has morphed into a human shit.
it is not like going....'well, it's pretty great...last track isn't quite as good, but it's still solid'
it's like going....'why the fuck am i suddenly chewing a poo between two slices of wholemeal bread'
I've feeling it might break 9.0
take your pick.
I think it will be like the Suburbs, which got a slightly lower rating than one would expect considering pitchfork like them so much.
That and the fact it simply isn't as good.
It's miles better than that Fleet Foxes.
Fo sho. They'll want it to be high (over 8.8) but not better than Person Pitch. It's significantly better than Suburbs (and Helplessness Blues), and P4K will know it.
Sounds like a leftover from the Gayngs lp, probably was tbh.
I seriously love it with ZERO irony involved.
And I'm positive, it's lush.
Great album :-)
on the third listen through the album, it all seemed to make sense.
i don't even know what i think anymore.
It happens bro. That song is cash in the bank and you know it, quit being silly.
but ... yeah, it just sounds lovely. Very 80s drums which put me off a bit, but the song itself is great. One of the best on the album
very good from what I've listened to, maybe more to your tastes
that he found the perfect balance on Blood Bank.
i like the new one, but it all seems so heavy and dense. too many layers, perhaps. the best thing about his previous stuff has been all the space that he creates.
