How easy are these to display in practice? What equipment do you bring to gigs and how much does it cost?
and my advice would be- make sure the laptop doesn't overheat!
Thinking about it... a dvd player might be a more sensible option.
In the dying days of The Firm, we used projections - we were lucky in that we were able to borrow a projector from someone but did look into getting our own. I think we were looking at about £250 for a reasonable one. With regards to the backdrop, we were also lucky in that the places we played had walls behind the stage that were sufficient (I might also add that said visuals were black and white and pretty stark/sparse) but we did have a white sheet and the means to put it up just in case. Having said that, the sheet could have been classed as a fire hazard and thus putting it up would go against H&S legislation.
PS Can you let me know about the gig on FB please? :)
and we had someone sat towards the side manning the laptop. They did the visuals so were more than happy to do this (plus we gave them drinks).
I'm fairly certain we'll do as the Silences but just waiting for a bit more confirmation from one or two others first.
is your man for this question! He's used projector/screen setups in countless small venues for Revere for several years.
Hi - Is there any computer programs or software / downloads for background visuals at gigs or do you simple create graphics or run a DVD?
any help ideas or input would be much appreciated!
