guess it makes sense, don't see it being IDENTITCAL though
That bands are going to rearrange their whole tour schedule around this. Coachella are kidding themselves. Headliners might be able to do it, but anything below that is just not feesable.
Guarentee this is the only time it will ever happen.
and obviously think there is enough demand to at least nearly sell out two weekends, I'm sure they will. Plus, mid-April is hardly PRIME touring time and bands most certainly make a lot more off festivals than normal gigs.
but its going to be a logistical nightmare, regardless of money or appeal, they're really expecting to organise all those bands and technical and staff TWICE?! with a week in between? This would only really work if it was merely local bands that were playing, but even then its going to be so difficult!
when a couple of bands do pull out or whatever, then the fans will be disappointed. PLUS, presumably to do this they're gonna make bands sign a contract for double (and then some) money they'd normally offer, and that potentially limits the amount of bands who are going to want to make that commitment!
Still, would be pretty awesome for the bands that could make that commitment.. spending a week off, relaxing in the April heat..
