But it still manages to be dull, and not at all catchy like their other stuff admittedly was.
you mean selling millions of albums and headlining major festivals?
They never said it was unsuccessful
BUT at least they've done away with filing half the song with WOOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHWOOOOOOWWWWWWs.
They may have dropped the woooooaaaa vocals, but musically they still can't write a middle 8 without "building up" to some shitty crescendo
definitely a new direction for them, so I suppose that's something.
It still seems a bit weak though, especially the vocals, may be the production. Lacks a bit of punch definitely
but it's incredibly dull!
where they've gone wrong, in changing their musical direction, is to base their new one on Maximo Park. who are categorically The Most Boring Band In The World. silly.
is really good
is exactly what I thought.
there were songs that sounded like this on their other records, weren't there? I dunno, it's alright, not very melodic, much better than that "never skip a beat" song off the last record. But it's not really much of a comeback single, is it? Nee 'Beetlebum'...
especially as a couple of years ago everyone presumed they'd just split up.
sounds like Spoon but not as good
Yeah, not the first "generic indie landfill" album, the one that was genuinely offensive to whoever heard it or whoever even waded close to it in a shop.
Jesus fucking WEPT.
