Keep on keeping on!
A few of the troops are heading round to mine tonight for wine, weed and Dylan - Nice!
Gonna have to break out Bringing It All Back Home later then.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG LAD.
...I shall be doing the same! Not checked listings but I'd guess there may be a raft of tributes and the like on TV tonight, BBC or Sky Arts being prime candidates. Any ideas?
That being said i have No Direction Home, Don't Look Back, Live at Newport and I'm Not There in the flat.
However don't think i'll watch anything just sit up till the wee small hours listening to my collection of CDs and vinyl getting nicely toasted :)
on BBC 4 I think.
but part 1 says "coming soon". Grr.
When he performed at the Grammy's this year you could really tell his age was holding him back.
Was probably the coolest mofo on the planet circa '66 (and Hendrix was still alive back then!)
Favourite songs folks?
For me... the whole of Blood On The Tracks (minus Jack of Hearts) and....
Visions Of Johanna.
Or Positively 4th Street.
Or Sad Eyed Lady.
Or Lay Lady Lay.
Impossible to say, then.
Ballad Of Hollis Brown
Bob Dylan's 115th Dream
Positively 4th Street
70. My oh my. He was a dude way back when. Dead cool. Bday salutations Bob.
I think BBC3 or BBC4 were showing the '66 tour achives (or was it Sky Arts One). No Direction Home has already been shown. It could be that no channel is broadcasting anything tonight. As above, just play his records in honour of his hair and cuban heels. Play loud. Play f'ing loud.
if anyone is interested. There are hardly any Dylan videos on Youtube (??) so there are a few covers etc there too.
Happy 70th Mr Zimmerman.
Pretty good going since he was about 40 years into his career then.
what a man, what a life, what a body of work - Happy birthday Bob.
A highly recommended way to start the day.
Love the guy so so so much.
Lots of weed, lots of wine and lots of Bob sung aloud with toasts aplenty.
Wasn't that easy gettin up this morn right enough :)
Did tune into a thing on Sky Arts about the 66 Tour which was interesting enough but Mickey Jones made it more about him than Dylan so turned off once I realised Bob footage was at a minimum and settled for the records.
Sterling work twigboyjoe :)
without knowing in advance that The Man In Me is on the soundtrack. SPOOKY.
Made for some great listening.
