Good remixes to play at indie disco

Dinodonkey [Edit] [Delete] 7 replies 23:58, 17 May '11

I'm starting my own alternative night in a few weeks. Can anybody reccomend me some decent remixes of some tunes? I've already got the Soulwax compilation (Gossip, LCD Soundsystem etc.)

  • Depends what kind of night it is

That soulwax remix stuff is a bit "dated" is it not?

  • Monster Hospital - MSTRKRFT remix

I have fun memories of that one. But it was situational from a time where indie remixes were THE THING. Like, I can't imagine a place still playing Justice, MSTRKRFT, Radio Soulwax etc.

But I could be completely wrong. I just though that electro/indie thing was as faddish as Klaxons were and this new wave of dubstep will be.

    But yeah... Dubstep?

  • Yeah, bit dated that sound

Just play stuff like Proxy and Boys Noize or Fuck Buttons and Linstrom and Prins Thomas and see if it works

    • Or mix original songs via using the hell out of CD decks' looping functions

Or don't and just play 4/4 tunes

There's interesting ways to mix indie songs
