Who has a spare ticket or two?
I've got a ticket for tonight & am looking forward to seeing the self-titled album in full (been listening/Spotifying it recently) & then there should be a set of greatest hits.
obviously the tour is for the debut re-release, but check this little setlist from Sunday night - http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/queens-of-the-stone-age/2011/paradiso-amsterdam-netherlands-1bd3e1bc.html
7:45PM Dough Rollers
8:45PM Queens of the Stone Age
11PM Show close-
So it will be around 50/50 between the complete playing of the self-titled album & then another hour of "greatest hits".
Should be great!!
The Bronze was delightful.
just fucking incredible.
Can't believe they played I Never Came too.
but chiefly I was at the back up top, there was a pillar obstructing totally my view of Josh, and I don't think the atmos stretched as far back as I was (there were a lot of bored looking faces). Also the upstairs had a steady stream of people getting up chatting going to the bar, wandering about, generally being off-putting.
And I remembered seeing them at the front of the Garage after Rated R came out and just thought, how's this going to get better than that?
And THEN they did ...Parasol, one of my favourite songs, with no energy, almost like a lounge act. That was it. Falafel beckoned.
(PS I fully appreciate the experience was probably different at the front)
we were downstairs last night and it sounded amazing. i've been upstairs there once for Spiritualized and it was ok because i'm old and a seat for that show was much appreciated.
at least you were in, there were lots of very disappointed looking people hanging around outside......
Can't pretend to not be disappointed though.
first album sounded AMAZING last night and then the encores of Burn The Witch / Make It Wit Chu / Monsters In The Parasol / Hangin Tree / I Never Came / Little Sister / Go With The Flow just made a great gig even better.
it was completely over-sold last night, made for a slightly uncomfortable evening, people were leaving because of this I think.
worth it all and more though, best gig i've been to this year so far and best time i've seen Queens since, well, a long time ago....
I was in a great spot towards the front and found some space (although there was a lot of space when a very sweaty chap started exiting during You Can't Quit Me Baby - just before the unhinged bit - looked like he was coughing and then vomited everywhere catching some poor buggers).
I moved back for the encore to get some water and it was packed right to the wall and people looked a bit cheesed off to be honest. Shame really.
Still a great show, and I feel ultra jammy to have got to go.
i was very narrowly missed by vomit boy, felt very bad for the guy that got it all down his leg.
