may have been your favourite album of all time...
Semisonic - Feeling Strangely Fine
All Killer No Filler, first album I got.
I thought it was actually the best thing in the world ever that I'd never tire of. Then I moved on to Dookie by Green Day.
I used to think I was so alternative and cool and grown up in 1994 :)
I always pinched it off her and listened to 'Let Her Cry' on repeat for yonks. Rather maudlin behaviour for an 11 year old, on reflection.
The other songs I remember doing this with were Brick by Ben Fold's Five and Don't Go Away by Oasis. This may explain why I grew into such a miserable cunt.
Velvets - White Light/White Heat
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Orange
Ramones - first album
TG - Second Annual Report
Residents - Meet the Residents
John Duncan - Klaar
Zoviet-france - Mohnomishe
was the first cd i ever bought and to this day remains awesome
alkaline trio - from here to infirmary
nine inch nails - the downward spiral
the smiths - meat is murder
brian eno - another green world
Inside in inside out - the kooks
Fantasy black channel - Late of the pier
Maybe Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' too, but maybe I overplayed it a little.
bright eyes - letting off the happiness
bright eyes - fevers and mirrors
bright eyes - I'm wide awake it's morning
Still is as well.
was pretty much all I listened to for 6 straight months in 97-98.
my favourite album of all time is any one of:
New Order - Technique
The Cure - Disintegration
Shack - Here's Tom With the Weather
Go-Betweens - 16 Lovers Lane
Nick Cave - Let Love In
Twenty eight years old I was!
Not really, I was 11.
Weezer - Blue Album
Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
Not even a proper album...
It's still up there, mind you. It's held up better than most.
Best of all the way.
Do remember being pretty miffed that it didn't have 'I Would Do Anything For Love' on it.
Paul Simon - Graceland
Europe - The Final Countdown
Meatloaf - Hits Out Of Hell
Stereophonics - Performance and Cocktails
It's all been downhill since then.
