you know its true.
"You have the greatest breasts I have ever seen." Maybe they were, maybe they weren't...but they *were* very nice. But the important point here is that she told me to get lost.
are the reason why aliens decide not to bother contacting us.
he has to show his workings in so far as he has heard every band there has ever been, including the ones that didnt ever put anything on record.
no one will get near them. im gonna cry like a baby when they finish.
probably some shit indie band that gets hyped for a week then gets forgotten about.
that make me wish i didn't love radiohead so much, and also stalls any discussion of them, you can't talk about them without a million people going "well I don't think they're brilliant" and a million people saying "this is objectively the greatest song of all time lololololololol"
weezer > rivers' solo work > jedward > the blue album > kid a > radiohead.
I am all aboard the Train for Radiohead for Best Band! I have no idea who you could say is better. The Beatles I suppose but after that hmmmmm Oasis maybe is close
dont bring Oasis into it
you've fallen straight out of Q magazine haven't you.
This thread is only meant to start a proxy war between Beatles fans and Radiohead fans. Once they have decimated each other, we can emerge from the rubble and turn our attention to the only band that ever truly mattered...
is the reason why people hate Radiohead fans.
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS. Just do it.
Their music means so much to me and They're my favorite band in the whole world.
But radiohead fans make me fucking wish I hated those bloody lads.
I never wanted a tattoo because I could never think of what to have. But that bear, right there, is a good idea
Im sure you can imagine
But I prefer Rod Stewart, he's a bit more edgy.
lets just discuss how In Limbo is an amazing song
Stop posting links to your shit, up your own arse blog you friendless freak.
here on DiS tonight. fucking mental.
as far as I'm concerned Radiohead ARE (not) the best band of all time. Using "is" is so American.
We'll have less of that yank grammar around here!
I always thought they were shite. Until I saw them do a 50 minute set on Jools Holland. That pretty much converted me in one session flat. They are very, very good but not the best band ever by a long shot... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-6FCfhatQE
that link is them at their peak, for me at least...
They are a great band (or were if The King Of Limbs is anything to go by - what a truly disappointing album) but despite their admirable work since Kid A it just doesn't resonate with enough people to be considered great. Their peak was a long time ago and also Thom Yorke isn't a particularly interesting character. To some he may be, but you do get the feeling that his "reclusive" image is somewhat contrived like a lot of their recent work. Generally though you're a complete fool if you say Radiohead are the greatest of all time. If you do then you don't listen to enough music or you have to get out more (the case for most "hipsters"). It's simple really.
Suggestion: smoke a bowl, put on some quality headphones, and take a SECOND listen.
That way it'll be running at a speed where you can actually understand what the record is supposed to be. Heh, not trying to be a jerk here, just really tired of this record getting shit because it's less immediate...
It's not a bad record. I think the criticism is very similar to when Kid A came out. A lot of people just don't like the type of electronica that Radiohead are nabbing from this time. Hence the amount of people going "shit album except Codex" which is not coincidentally the most indie track on the album.
Me I think the more dance inspired bits are pretty good but not as good as Flying Lotus' own stuff. That's basically the same criticism my Amon Tobin loving friends had of Kid A at release. I love the remix series though.
Radiohead are utterly integral to me falling in love with music, and there are no records I treasure more than theirs, however fans who go out of their way to try and 'objectively prove' or even argue about whichever band is the 'best' are dull.
What's your favourite band? There that's the best band in the world.
who appropriate music/issues/causes in their quest to be seen as the most credible band, with the help of a marketing juggernaut, really soulless and calculated, but thats just my opinion
look man, i dont know much in this crazy world, but i do know that radiohead fucking rock.
just wanted to show there are a range of views on them, as sometimes they are seen as unquestionably great
and 1/3 of hail to the thief does not need to exist.
would have been perfect.
Though I would miss Punchup at a Wedding
sub-thread: best radiohead songs to have sex to.
2) i might be wrong
3) you and whose army
4) punchup at a wedding
5) the national anthem
But they just leave me completely & utterly cold. I keep trying them on, just to see if maybe I'm in a receptive mood yet, but they always strike me as clinical, sterile and boring.
They were the band that got me into music as well, and I love them to pieces, but it is really embarrassing to be a fan sometimes.
I do think a lot of people on here keep quieter about Radiohead than they would any other band, if just because of that reputation and the response they'll probably get, but fair enough, it has been done to death and usually if you're a Radiohead fan you already know pretty much all you need to know about them anyway. For the sake of progress...?
But i think Seperator may be one of their best songs. It melts me.
That new TKOL basement video is freaking incredible! And now with Portisheads drummer thrown in they could be better than ever.
Radiohead: You complete me.
