Counter-thread ahoy!

But I really do. I'm obsessed with, for want of a better word 'ambi-dance', stuff like Blondes, D/R/U/G/S, Christian Aids, The Field, Gold Panda, etc... possibly even the slightly more hypnotic stuff like Factory Floor, Actress, etc and all the Peter Gabriel-ish Hyperdub acts like Darkstar. I went through a brief faze of this a while back but now I can't get out of the hypnotic quagmire. And I really think there's something exciting going on here, in this strange space where minimal techno, trance and ambient are converging. The textures are so fucking ornate and the general throb of it all has me in awe.

And then there's all the slightly more ambient stuff like Nicolas Jaar, Tim Hecker and the slightly more ghostly stuff like How to Dress Well and Matthew Dear. As well as the more party anthemic stuff like Cut Copy's newie.

And that's not to mention the more 'indie-rock' stuff like Antlers, Bright Eyes and that.

Music is great at the music, isn't it?
