So which of you brave souls have trawled Bandcamp...

...and actually found decent new music, in spite of how clunky browsing is? I have a couple of recommendations, would be keen to hear more

Moody, Brooklyn-based New-Rave inspired Rock. Inventive songwriting, reminiscent of The National

Sun Glitters - http://sunglitters.bandcamp.com/
Sunny bedroom-pop, but with much more imagination than standard chillwave bandwaggoners. Almost Ambient Pop.

Cinématique - http://cinematique.bandcamp.com/
Slow-burning post rock/ambient. Very "cinematic", album has great rhythmic flow

Last thing I found out of the blue and liked was this album called Slothpop by a band called Slothpop

Basically folkyish indie pop with female vocals. Not a million miles from MSTU or something like that. Haven't paid $10 for the download, but I *might* stump up a few quid for a cd if there was one.

The artist is Sleepingdog, which it turns out is Adam Wiltzie from Stars of the Lid + a female vocalist from some band I've never heard of. The album comes out this month, I think. Only a couple of songs up here, but it's nice.

Came out this year, don't really know what it sounds like - not that it defies categorisation or anything like that, I just can't think. Someone who reads pitchfork and listens to more indie than I do can probably pin it down better than me. Maybe Panda Bear or something.

Beyond This Point Are Monsters = pretty formulaic EITS-with-violins post-rock, but its free and it doesn't outstay its welcome if you want that kinda thing. Pretty old.

that bandcamp's strength is in being linked too.

Its appeal for me as someone with a page, is that it is so clean and clutter free from all the suggestions and celebrities that have ravaged myspace.
