His only UK show!
On sale later today at alt-tickets.co.uk
I can't wait for this, Love Remains is such a great record
On we got tickets.
we nearly had him for Great Escape but sadly he couldn't do it...
If they weren't playing Bleed American and Clarity I would happily sack it off or this...
support is Holy Other
wasn't mindblowing or anything but I kinda like the fact it was just a bloke standing there singing. Sort of felt like performance art or something at points. Would like to see it with a band/musicians to see how it compares.
Two people I went with hated it though. I can see how it'd be divisive.
It seemed like a How To Dress Well karaoke evening.
I still can't believe they projected his laptop screen showing him press play.
exactly. so disappointed. :(
Something incredibly disarming about seeing a man stand alone and bare all for a gathered crowd. His voice was nothing short of wonderful at times and I couldn't take my eyes off him.
New songs sounded amazing, including one co-produced with Forest Swords.
Very, very enjoyable.
I dunno, it just sounded like he wasn't really into it and was a little too detached. Perhaps he was nervous, but I didn't feel that there was any connection between him and the crowd.
The new stuff sounded good though, especially the track he's done with Forest Swords.
geroge monbiot in a vest singing chillwave RnB like his heart was going to explode. With an x-factor element - i had no real proof that he was actually singing! Massively brave of him too, i agree.
such a refreshing change from the standard gig fare, thoroughly enjoyed it
He'd need to bring in someone else to lend a hand of course, but would love to hear his stuff properly live (or semi-live) rather than just using a backing track. Felt a bit like a 2d version of 3d sound if you know what I mean.
DON'T GET ME WRONG. I enjoyed it.
But the music is what I love about it, and it was all about the vocals. A bit disappointing. Suicide Dream 2, though: Incredible.
or at least have a soundman to help get the volume and texture right.
he should collaborate with Luke Abbott or Seams or someone like that for his live show.
