its where im sitting, also
so there's at least 4 hours to go through it all.
Did not know about this :( At least it's not completely sold out. Is third row of the circle good at the Barbican?
I saw Laurie Anderson from the 2nd row circle and was very happy.
I'll be in London from May 4 - 9 and really, really, wanted to experience a great gig in the best city in the world for live music! DFA79 sold out and I wasn't too keen on seeing Gonzalez, Rolo Tomassi, or Black Star.
Now let's see how well it goes trying to book tickets from abroad...
I'm all booked up. Just got to stop by the venue beforehand. Nosebleed seat, though. On a budget, like. I'm spending 5 days in London and three weeks abroad total. Really excited, never heard an album played in full before.
am pumped as hell
I was looking at the other gigs and they don't look bad at all. Tyondai Braxton, Johan Johansson, and that.
and the mark stewart-y one that afternoon too
I'll be on holiday and obviously won't know the venue/area.
I've seen Grizzly Bear and Sufjan Stevens there. It'd quite grandiose and picture-esque because its more suited to classical music so it'll be a bit different from your average london gigging experience. I really like it, it's comfortable and has a warm atmosphere. It'd be my favourite venue in London if Union Chapel didn't exist.
It's also, if i remember, not the easiest to find, for such a big venue it's quite well hidden, at least if you approach from the tube. But there's usually someone who's obviously a fan of the same music and obviously lost wandering around the same area so teamwork usually prevails.
I thought that was awesome.
I had to leave at 10ish due to tube/train wank so I missed Max Richter. Did anyone catch him?
The sound wasn't perfect for Owen (he's tweeted to say they didn't get a chance to soundcheck) but I still absolutely loved hearing Heartland from start to finish with a massive orchestra.
I stayed until after the Eighth Blackbird lot, and really enjoyed it all. Would have liked to see the other performances too, but it had started to overrun a bit, and I was just too knackered from previous evenings. Very enjoyable anyway!
