manatees (especially the one with eugene robinson, which i can't find on the internet)
their first album since the change in direction is coming out soonish
my pick would be Manatees
Manatees are the big milky tits
Although I don't think they're still recording.
Capricorns are a great shout, saw them once before they split up. Loud.
I'd also recommend Sloath who are great at making truly monstrous Sludge/Stoner Noise:
Cane Trader is one hell of a track. Also Rose Kemp's new album is pretty Doomy:
And Humanfly, who recently rereleased their first album as a free download, well worth a listen:
the enemy of my enemy is me off the new one is a hugely angry tune
their S/T is immense.
Do 'Abominable Iron Sloth' count while we're thinking of sloths?
the bassist in sloath is tom from charlottefield
Sloath and Manatees sound especially interesting though will give them all a listen.
awesome! huge huge tar thick siound
Also, Tree of Sores. excellent mid paced Leeds Trio. great vocals, really cool baslines and torrent of noise guitars,. free download, CD on Witch Hunter records:
At a Crawl,
drunk in hell
I bloody love bong.
We diet pills have a website now.
www.dietpillsband.co.uk It is very 1998.
Gurt are a local sludge band worth checking out live.
Dopefight are a MUST check out.
i third, or fourth SLOATH. and also S+S. and the CHIMP.
new hey colossus album up for presale: www.riotseason.com
im sure I replied to this. Oh well
2nd Manatees,Drunk in hell,diet pills, palehorse, spiderkitten, Todd,Geisha
dethscalator (you already know this)
charger are still around
Gate of Slumber
Church of Misery
and Sunshine Republic
officially disbanded but apparently open to offers
and Stink Wizzleteat
the greatest digital hardcore/sludge/powerviolence band in the world but I'm just too damn modest
It's death metal, but I usually find people who like a bit of doom might like this -
Plus some of the above.
and they are still awesome
They've become kinda really uninteresting, generic metal with bad Californian accents
also check out:
Dragged Into Sunlight (blackened sample-laden sludge from Liverpool [I think])
Sunsmasher (sludgey crusty goodness from Glasgow)
Another vote for Manatees. They served me beer last night. They're loud.
as old countzero mentioned this was all a ploy (a well intentioned one) as I'm putting on:

They are back playing live on June 16 at the Bedford, Balham.
