Changes, Oh You Pretty Things, Life on Mars, Queen Bitch . . .
and also no
it is joint best
it's currently Station to Station.
it's a close run thing really. Between hunky dory, ziggy stardust, alladin sane and scary monsters. And the berlin trilogy too oh and station to station and young americans also goddam it!!
That period form 1970 to 1980 they were just.......golden years!
...I've even got a lot of time for Kooks (the song, not the stage-school Stones-aping shower of chancers).
It's fantastic - Here's the latest episode http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00svvk9/The_David_Bowie_Story_Out_of_Characters_Into_Suits/
The episode on Low has some brillaint contributions from Eno and Visconti.
But yeah. Hunky Dory is my favourite Bowie album but I would say Low is the best (If that even makes any sense?) Quicksand and Bewley Brothers are so mature and ahead of their time for the era.
I was listening to Low last night and couldn't believe how complex and beautiful Subterraneans is. So yeah, Low.
but Funky Dory is the best Stevens album.
but tempted to say yes on the strength of Queen Bitch alone
low is better.
