Kinda picks up where
Kiss Of Life left off, i like it. Bit album track-y though. Who's producing do we know?
Paul Epworth according to their mailout, which reads thus:
PALA

LIVE THOSE DAYS TONIGHT
BLUE CASSETTE
RUNNING AWAY
HAWAIIAN AIR
HURTING
PALA
SHOW ME LIGHTS
TRUE LOVE
PULL ME BACK TO EARTH

Hello all. It's with huge pride and excitement that we announce our new album. Recorded over 18 months in St Albans, London, Rye, Yvetot and New York, and with production from ourselves and Paul Epworth, Friendly Fires 'PALA' will come out on the 16th of May 2011.
We'll be playing the new material live for the first time in the UK at the very intimate XOYO club in London on 7th April. Tickets are only available through the mailing list and website, click here if you wanna buy:

They're on sale at 9am tomorrow (Wed 23rd March)
Ed is going to be chatting with Zane Lowe later today on his BBC Radio 1 radio show, he'll be playing the single Live Those Days Tonight for the first time ever (between 7-8pm GMT). Let us know what you think. You can listen online too.
Turning to Will, "In Pala," she explained, "we don't say grace before meals. We say it with meals. Or rather we don't say grace; we chew it."
"Chew it?"
"Grace is the first mouthful of each course---chewed and chewed until there's nothing left of it. And all the time you're chewing you pay attention to the flavor of the food, to its consistency and temperature, to the pressures on your teeth and the feel of the muscles in your jaw."
"And meanwhile, I suppose, you give thanks to the Enlightened One, or Shiva, or whoever it may be?"
Shanta shook her head emphatically. "That would distract your attention, and attention is the whole point. Attention to the experience of something given, something you haven't invented. Not the memory of a form of words addressed to somebody in your imagination."
We hope you like it.
FF x
Hopefully the album
will be amazing, Epworth's a genius obviously. It's fair to say FF appear to have done what people thought Klaxons might do back in '06. A mix of guitars, synths, bits of mad stuff that you can dance to. Come to think of it that mailout spiel is 'a bit Klaxons' aswell.
hrm, maybe but i think they come at things from, er, a different dimensions but i guess it's the same sort of cross pollination and aspiration, just Klaxons are into more noiser guitar bands, whereas Friendly Fires love Kompakt compilations...
there's also the thing that
Friendly Fires are really good and Klaxons simply are not.
i must get myself some Kompact compilations.
/\ AGREED TO THE MAX /\
I think it sounds huge, loving the drum fills before the chorus bursts in!
