Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend
FUN FUN FUN
YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS
it's so great
I'm deeply nostalgic for the trans-Atlantic paedo-pop movement of the latter half of last week. Admit it: it was a simpler time and music was fun and innocent. Now it's Monday and grey and I'm back on the commuter train listening to... well, it doesn't matter. Same old depressing shit, right?
You know how the online release of the new Radiohead album was supposed to be a 'collective global listening experience'? Well, it was... except it wasn't Radiohead. Did you run into people all weekend smiling and humming Lotus Flower? No, you didn't.
Stay tuned next weekend when I slag Rebecca Black's obviously rushed and (even more) coldly calculated follow-up single.
Yesterday was Thursday, today it is Friday guys!
Runnymede, Runnymede, Whoo
I don't want this weekend to end
I hope some of my friends come and pick me up at the bus stop.
I hope to God you've realised that you can't take the front seat if someone else has called shotgun. Please outsmart Rebecca Black. Swallow your pride and just sit in the back.
I know it's the OC but even so
walking through the union everyone is either singing it or smiling at someone else singing it.
i love it.
every Friday until the end of time.
All those in favour ^this it.
^ favourite line
anyway, if anyone fancies covering this (maybe it could be put together like a band aid style charity track) the chords are B E over and over ending on A for the bridge. or if you want to do the acoustic version, which i think sounds a little nicer on guitar, it's C Am F G.
Little move to Am/C/F/G on the bridge "Kickin' in the front seat..."
Why the fuck do I know this?!
Anyway, scew it: it's Friday. Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal..
i think i am looking for some sort of hidden nod towards it knowing it's the worst (a) melody; (b) lyrics; (c) voice; (d) everything but there's nothing like that. it just exists. in its way. and everyone is... ok with it?
i dunno. i kind of wish it knew how crap it was.
anyway, WHY DOES SHE NEVER DECIDE
she takes the back seat with her FRIEND
is this information contained in the polite rap?
Wait, no it wasn't! April Fool's!
I now listen to this song every Friday morning before going to work. It has become the embodiment of my anticipation of the weekend.
