any fans on here? That last album was something else.
at first i was a little unsure about For the Evening because i loved the pure bounce of Wave Like Home so much, although Tin Man was instantly great but the album really grew on me after a few listens- the In the Fall Ep is also excellent in particular the title track and also worth checking out the old band - 'Art Lord and the Self portraits' - in your idea house - its quite live, bouncy and raw but good
just a great band. Little dreamer is a little sad vaudevillian type thing.
So good, really looking forward to the new album.
it's among a very small few I'm excited for as we head into fall. 'Before the Bridge' is just a gorgeous tune. The lyrics describe yearning and heartbreak on a cosmic scale but it's also insanely danceable. Maybe my track of the year.
But really liked BITS of the second one.. The first three songs, a couple of tunes on the second side, great, but the other songs were a bit samey/lacked melody.
However the two songs I've heard off this record are class, so I'll definitely be buying it when it comes out.
but it's just as brilliant as it's predecessors.
The ballads are really wonderful. And the colaboration of Wye Oak frontwoman in one track worked quite well and is another of the big surprises of this record.
fell in love with them at the scala. didn't like his voice to be honest but grew on me. like a mouldy scab,

After touring (almost) nonstop for the last 5 years, we took a break from the road this year to focus on writing & recording a new record. While we can't tell you too much about the album yet, we can say that it's finished and we can't wait for you to hear it! We're planning to hit the road hard in 2014, and more tour dates will be announced very soon!
if we all made an effort to pledge to the same northern town? I'd love to see these but not on a Tuesday night in London.
I'm assuming there's more than 3 of us that would be interested in this obviously.
New songs sound great. Everytime I see them live I’m sort of convinced they’re the greatest band on the planet, but then I’ll forget all about them until the next time.
This March, we will be releasing our fourth full-length album, Singles, on 4AD.
Pre-Order will be available January 21st.
Available Worldwide on March 24 in the UK, March 25 in the rest of the world.
We also have a ton of new tour dates to announce! (More dates, including Europe in May, will be announced soon...) ..."
Fingers crossed for Primavera then.
"Singles is a bold album of wandering reflections and haunted wonder, Sam's wounded howl on "Fall From Grace" makes sure that much is clear. It's an album that keeps running from the off and keeps running from a restlessness that threatens to consume. As the record concludes in cascading delight with "A Dream Of You And Me" your preconceptions of Future Islands being a romantic band fade. Suddenly you realize they're more enthralled by the notions of romanticism and idealism that never fail to lead all hearts astray. Future Islands have always been there, on the outside looking in. With Singles they step inside us and start looking out and it's a joy to finally join them."
It's deffo their poppiest album, but also their most heartwarming and best, imo. Probably my favourite of the year, though Ought's debut gives it a close run.
Letterman at the end saying "I'll have all of what you've got, thanks"
I've watched it about five times in the past 48 hours.
Some songs I utterly love (Beach Foam, Tin Man, the new one...) and others leave me cold and unmoved. So bizarre.
love the song.
Whenever I see them I always think that Samuel T. Herring would make a great actor if the band went tits up.
but I can't quite place who...
