SMH. This shit will probably be a massive hit.
2. She's 14.
But it's pretty unimaginative for what will probably be a massive single. It also wouldn't be on the radar if she wasn't 14... which really doesn't affect the quality of the music. For me, it's fairly lifeless.
for a 14-year-old. Why isn't she listening to Pere Ubu and Neu! yet, the cunt.
it hasn't registered during my working day (when R2 is on in the office), and it isn't showing up in their last.fm stats http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL2Uzz4j01s and it's not playlisted at the mo http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/music/playlist/
the Ellie Goulding cover of Your Song
Thanks 14 year old girl
And I'm sure more kids will discover Mr Vernon from this too. Eh, maybe I'm just overprotective of my favourite songs but the original really resonated with genuine emotion, while this cover just leaves me empty.
Did Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah really lead to a wider appreciation of Buckley or Cohen? Or is it going to lead to hordes of 14 year olds going "heard the original boring lol".
sing the words "suckle on the hope in light brassiere". I feel sort of sick.
for me this sucks all the soul out of it. it such an incredibly emotive record and it loses so much in the way she plays it. very good for a 14 year old, but it doesnt mean it should be worthy of daytime airplay.
i'll bet good money there is some label behind this somewhere...?
i'm not getting any emotion from it all beyond the fact that she seems to enjoy the song. fine for the internet i guess but doesn't merit radio play.
Quite surprised this is reply 24 and nobody's gone "better than the original lol" yet.
