I refuse to accept that this is Battles.
Horrible. None of it fits together at all, although the bit when the guitars come in is especially bad.
I like it a lot.
If that's the feel of the new album, the ICA will be a joyous evening.
Certainly no more than the album was from the B/C EPs.
Plinky plonk, plinky plonk, noodle, noodle, noddle. Just guessing.
So for me, it's perfectly fine.
It reminds me a tiny bit of that Sugar Ray song on The Beach OST. I shall leave you to work out if you think this is a good or bad thing.
I'm off to listen to Fever Ray again.
everyone hated Atlas at first after spending so long with the EPs
Instrumental is fun though.
lol there really is, wasn't expecting that. It sounds a bit like Len remixed by Broken Social Scene remix by... ummm Battles.
sounds a bit like panda bear vocally to me
just not great, sounds a bit busy in places too
Is still there after Tyondai. Which makes me happy!
It's certanly better than that piece of shit they donated to the Twilight soundtrack - so my faith in them is restored somewhat
I've decided this is absolutly brilliant. It probably won't do for them what Atlas did, but its definatly its own out-there style groove
interested to see how it sounds in the context of the record.
earned some extra vibes. Interesting.
but this is good. Matias Aguayo is pretty cool
I'm very much looking forward to the new LP.
And this is another borderline flipper (if that makes sense.)
for pasting the lyrics
Not sure I entirely get the Romania bit but enjoyable none the less
feels a little overcooked in places, and too cluttered, and I still don't get down with some of the tracks. but on balance, really solid
it has none of the dynamics and variety of Mirrored. The only not-immediately-Battles-sounding bit is the opening to the first track, after that it's non-stop repetitive twiddling, which really Mirrored was not.
V disappointed. See also Three Trapped Tigers, massive let down after a consistent run of great EPs.
