Lyrics to Beady Eye...
"I'm hiding out in the sun
I'm getting everyone done
Just me hating no one
Here I come, here I come, here I come"
"It's a beautiful world when you know who you are
You're moving too fast in the back of the car
You're giving in another try
Staring at the deep blue sky"
They're my two favourites at the minute. If this thing isn't nominated for "Best Comedy Record" at next years Grammys, there's no justice in the world.

Oasis
Just remember, kids
Noel taught them everything they know.
I think it might be one of the worst things I've ever heard.
DiS favourite Andy Bell wrote them
That's the worst song on the album as well. Why do people like Ride? They never wrote anything approaching even decent.
PS: I agree it's a terrible album.
they did,
it's called 'Nowhere'.
No one can deny that Ride's lyrics were appaling
The very definition of bad 6th form poetry.
Nah, Nowhere isn't that good.
Ride peaked with Drive Blind / Chelsea Girl.
Oops, misread slightly.
Gem Archer wrote the top chunk, Andy Bell wrote the bottom chunk.
What's so funny about it?
I work in a record store too...
so i have this shit forced upon me. Bah!
The NME gave this record 7/10 last week
In the same issue it also gave The King Of Limbs the same score.
....and in the same issue
they also gave Kid A a 7.
THE BEADY EYE ALBUM IS AS GOOD AS KID A!
Pretty much every broadsheet
has given it a positive review actually.
Its almost as if a lot of the printed press are afraid of judging the record on the quality of the music for fear of its main protagonist and his publicity team ostracising them in the future or something...
Liam Gallagher-the Fergie of music?
I guess giving a bad review to Beady Eye/Oasis/Gallagher brothers would like criticising Pitchfork
People are afraid it has become cliche, so they don't do it. It's a pity because it is the least imaginative music out there (yeah i've heard Different Gear...). Since Brother are Oasis-lite, the same will probably apply to them.
didn't stop me;

Suitably scathing
At the other end of the spectrum, you've got pieces like this: http://www.popmatters.com/pm/review/137536-beady-eye-different-gear-still-speeding/.
I swear these guys used to be good critics
proper lyrics mate, from a PROPER rock band
like to see raydeeohead write something as good as that
I don't think many people listen to Radiohead for the lyrics.
I certainly don't.
In saying that,
Thom's never written anything that bad, which I assume was the point you were trying to make.
gun/fish/barrel
Beady Eye may be in a different gear, still speeding...
But are they going 200 Km/H in the WRONG LANE?
Hell, I've seen skinny little teen girls going that fast.
Even my farts rhyme
with sheeeeiinnnnnne.
I still can't get over the fact that they're called Beady Eye
I really thought it was BDI.
:D
Joe, fancy starting a band called British Dietary Institute with me?
I'd take that as a no.
SILENT BURN.
:'(
I'm getting everyone done
What is that supposed to mean? Because right now I'm imagining Liam walking down the street sterilising people.
or him telling on the ENTIRE WORLD to the teacher
I quite like the idea of hiding in the sun.
It's the kind of place a Brosnan era Bond villain would build their evil lair.
i wrote about this record
just here:
http://www.raggedwords.com/reviews/album-reviews/album-review-beady-eye-different-gear-still-speeding
i felt the 7/10 nme and 4/5 q reviews were a tad generous.
Your first paragraph
I completely disagree with. The rest I'd agree with.
well...
...yes, it IS like shooting fish in a barrel, but to imply so, is to imply Oasis and everything involved is poor, which is a can of worms i don't wanna open. By having this ghastly record thrust upon mine ears over the last week or so, it's forced me to form an opinion. I just can't believe how bad it is. There's a song on there too with some "clever" word play, where he compares himself/band to the "beatles and stones". Jeez
middle-class fringes playing at mathematical rock
Are you sure?
Ah crap
Awful board reading skills, was meant as a reply to the post above
Listened to this on the way to work
So many cringey moments. I wasnt expecting to like it, but I didnt think it'd be that bad.
With an attempted open mind
I just made myself listen to The Roller. It is easily one of the most stomach-turningly awful pieces of music I've heard. No one deserves this music foisted on them. I know not a single person who is thinking of buying this is reading, but please, please send the message to Liam that he needs to hear. Don't buy this!
you tell 'em Joe!
fucking irredemable musically, lyrically and just everything
totally with out any kind of artistic merit. Different Gear? Yeah it's stuck in first at 5mph...zzzz...
