sorry...
I did give Geidi Primes a go last year though
I didn't quite get into it but it was a pretty interesting sound that I'll keep an ear out for.
Plonkerz.
indeed
...and in fact my Mum got called that today in a robo voice by a kid in a wheel chair with a speaky box Hawkin machine. So it prob runs in the family.
This track is pretty nice, kinda mellow, kinda Enya, kinda trip-hop, Kinda like summer waiting to happen.
They remind me of...
A really mellow breezy playful Gang Gang Dance or something.
definitely some Nite Jewel being channeled here as well
oh my goodness, so good
I've been listening to it a bit more
its grown on me for sure. Its still a little bit Enya haha but who doesn't want a bit of Enya every now and again!?! Do you know Glasser too? She's got a simular thing going on.
Ha, Enya, yes I can see that. Oh dear oh dear.
I listened to the Glasser album a few times when it came out - albeit only as background music really - and found it quite pleasant, but I can't say it moved me much. I remember thinking at the time she sounded a bit like a highly-orchestrated-but-not-actually-as-good High Places, but that... probably isn't very accurate at all.
*heads off to whack on some Enya*
much prefer Geide Primes to Halfaxa
but then again i only listened to Halfaxa once or twice. must re-visit it. she's great
yeah, this lady is pretty good.
I've been listening to this a lot at night. In the dark.
and I'm really really enjoying it. Tried getting into it towards the end of last year and somehow it didn't stick, but as of this month this has been slowly slowly getting under my skin and now I think I might be a bit too obsessed.
I might also add
that I'll happily be a fan of any LP that names one of its songs after the Weregild.
A quick look on last.fm shows she's down here ina few months for Stag and Dagger and the Great Escape...... crossing my fingers for some extra dates
oh yeah, how is old Grimesy?
A bit grim?
Frank...Grimes...

new album @ 4AD
Claire Boucher aka Grimes recently signed to 4AD just in time for her new album, Visions, to hit the shelves. The release date has been pushed back to February 21st in North America and March 12th worldwide. In conjunction with the new date, Grimes dropped a second song, ‘Genesis’ - which is very good.
those first two songs from this new album
have both been extremely excellent
I'm excited.
She's absolutely adorable, I saw her supporting How To Dress Well and just wanted to cuddle her through the whole thing
I had been dubious of Grimes
But the new album has really impressed me. Oblivion has been pretty much on repeat this week
