Nicolas Jaar - Space Is Only Noise
So this is floating around the internet - official release is Valentines Day - piqued my interest so I've been giving it a few listens.
It's very impressive. Really deep, dark and slow - full of his strange, atmospheric, baritone voice, spoken work samples in French and English, minimal beats, and jazzy piano parts and vocal delivery. I wasn't sure about him at all when I first heard some of his stuff from 2010 but I think I'm going to absolutely fall in love with this record.

Will check this out
All I have is the 'Time For Us' single, which has some of the most delicious bass I've heard in a while.
Been listening to it
Just got to the title track. Jesus fucking Christ this is brilliant.
This seems like something I will like
from your description. Will check it.
Here's a taster, I'm loving this track especially:

I'm loving this
Can anyone recommend something similar?
Jaar is big fan of Ricardo Villalobos
Check that dude out because he's excellent. And if you like that dig some Luomo/Vladislav Delay.
He's does the latest Xlr8r mix
It's incredible, the best mix I've heard in ages. I had another one by him last year (Resident Advisor maybe?) that I deleted without giving it a listen, gutted. Really want to hear the album now. 4.5/5 review here:

Cool album
Seems like a grower
Specters Of The Future is my favorite at the moment.
It's a great album
Incredibly immersive. A little odd at times, but that's part of it's draw.
Its a little bit trip-hop
but I still kind of like it, I'm not sure why yet either. A couple of the tracks are a real good listen the rest might get there in a bit we'll see.
really like this on this grey sunday morning

On first listen
the first four tracks are great. the rest...not so much.
Been listening to this album this afternoon
Space never feels like a showcase for Nicolas Jaar; it's just a modest and well-decorated gathering place for some things he loves, a place for them to interact.
