has any of you cock-goblins heard this yet?
i released an unexpected but potent gust
Heard the clips on Emusic. Sounded quite good, like instrumentals from the Washing Machine era. I'm probably in a minority of 1 in liking most of the stuff they put out on SYR, even though their Geffen and now Matador output has become horribly tired and uninspiring.
That said I felt my monthly dose of freeform rock music was best served by the Bill Orcutt re-release and the new Aethenor. Both incredible.
i heard someone say on the SY forums that the closing track sounds like Diamond Sea's free-form section. again, i like
Might have to get hold of it. What Bill Orcutt got re-issued?
On Editions Mego oddly. The CD adds some extra tracks and a 7" that he did I think. Every track sounds largely the same but it's still a compelling listen.
The Aethenor album really is good, better than Faking Gold and Murder, for an improv outfit they have a lot of control. This one has Steve Noble on drums too.
His drumming is really vital to keeping the whole thing together while he also does lots of roaming the sounds of his kit to find out some limits to its possibilities.
Haven't heard the SYR 9 yet
Tres tres bon!!
than Made In USA, that album/soundtrack makes me really sad. Though was a long long time ago...!
Wasn't too fussed with J'Accuse Ted Hughes but the descriptions for this one sound very worthwhile :)
