An absolute gem of a song. A forgotten classic!
I've been listening to 'Of Montreal' a lot lately, myself
Classic album though yeah. Never bothered with any of the later stuff. Just to clarify, who left the band after this album? Is it the guy who sings on Lola?
The drummer (Dave Hamelin) then switched to guitar/vocals and they got a new drummer in. Dave Hamelin and Tim Fletcher (the guy who sang all tracks bar one on the first album) then alternated vocals on the next couple of albums.
As thesewoodenideas says down there, Greg Paquet is back in the band now and Tim Hamelin has gone back to playing drums.
definitely one of my favourite singles ever. Bought the 7" and have loved all the albums they've made. Very excited that original singer/guitarist Greg Paquet has rejoined so now the 'classic' lineup are back together.
new album due this year too!
will see if i can get an exclusive on it of some sort.
Comets swarm like fireflies. Outside. Your window.
Lovely memories of MTV2 in the morning before school.
there's something about 'Fevered' that really resonates with me, but the whole album is chocka with melancholy poppy loveliness.
not at all the second, third was a bit of a return to form.
I listened to this earlier this week for the first time in literally years, having noticed the album tucked away on a lower shelf. I thought it was pretty good, probably didn't like it as much as I did at the time.
Lola is probably 4th.
i'd say the first five songs on the album are pretty much fautless. And that's before you get to the epic still in love song.
really excited about the new record now the original lineup is back.
