I don't look at this board anymore so kinda out the loop.
I imagine they'll be hated.
Also: are The Drums hated here?
Caught them live at Leeds Festival too and they put on a good show. They played this Blueboy cover which was amazing:
I like the third one best
been playing it constantly all year; some epic and incredibly detailed psychedelia in there. The drumming is amazing - similar to Dungen. A proper good album.
blinding opener though
Surfing Song is good from the Drums but the rest I could leave
Picked it up on a whim because it was hanging around on the Emusic chart for ages and they are on the same label as Cut Copy.
Terrible name for a band but the album is really really good. There's times when it's all I want to listen to. Pitchfork liked it but I've not seen any mention round here. Maybe they aren't trendy enough or don't fit into any current scene.
I like how it's the sort of album that is satisfying to listen to start to finish. Takes a few listens to really click though. Amazing drums and production and the singer sounds scarily like Lennon. I'd stick it in my top 10 of '10.
saturated but not messy, the snare fills are very interessing, the phaser-y guitars too. And it's not like studio-stuff, their live shows have the same vibe.
only bought it a couple of months ago but haven't stopped listening to it. Alter Ego is a great track.
wish I'd caught them on their UK tour in October, but I didn't
supporting. They need to get on a proper tour.
and the EP they did before (the one with 'Half Full Glass of Wine') was fantastic. Pissed off the Manchester show sold out as I'd have loved to see them.
Anyway, rated the album in my Top 10 of the year, so yeah, I like it. I like it a lot.
