I don't care how much you love the Mars Volta.
Omar Rodriguez is a musical onanist.
Sets pop back about 15 years.
The firework song was influenced by Jack Keuroac's book On the Road, even though she has not read the book yet.
and has never read it
If someone did a youtube video of Mars Volta 'shredding', this is what it would sound like.
and you say THIS is worse?
The guy clearly thinks he's some sort of (pseudo) free-jazz provocateur nowadays... This is why ATDI will never reform, because Rodriguez is quite content being sat in his studio knocking out bangers like this.
Undoubtedly he is a talented musician but his recent conceptual prog-jects (in and out of The Mars Volta) are self serving wankfests.
had a few songs on it and everything, this not so much. Not all that surprised though, the guy managed to make Lydia Lunch and John Frusciante sound bad.
The music itself does not appear to convey anything. Well anything other than a guy going apeshit on a drumkit and Omar playing guitar and synth with a frigging blindfold on.
Anyway, regards to worst song ever conceived, I know it's an easy target but I still can't listen to that fucking awful Scouting for Girls shittwat music without wanting to blow my own brains out
is the Spice Girls' cover of The Waitresses 'Christmas Wrapping' (basically my favourite xmas song ever). They turn it into a tuneless abortion of an Iceland jingle. That's not rhythm guitar you can hear, that's Kerry Katona spinning in her grave.
It turns out, Sliced Bread (off some WWE soundtrack) is the worst song of all time.
TRY AND ARGUE WITH ME AFTER YOU LISTEN
Runner Up: Black Eyed Peas - My Humps/Boom Boom Pow/I Gotta Feeling/The Time (Dirty Bit)
and doesn't have some lame underlying philosphy or theme about it.
But yeah, that Omar Rodriguez track is fucking terrible.
She is, it was her gimmick that she was a really bad wannabe popstar. It was actually pretty funny. I think she either got fired or became a backstage agent though.
Rumour is she got her job with the company by blowing these two dudes: http://bit.ly/fM95jB and http://bit.ly/gFTZoM
That means this slides down in my list of all time musical turds.
When I saw this on the WWE CD I thought it was a genuine attempt at a pop single, while admiring the audacity to rhyme 'Me' and 'Bread'
didnt make it to the end of the track, not because I hated it so much my ears physically couldn't take it anymore, it just got REALLY IRRITATING
I don't care how good a drummer Zach Hill is, just give it a fucking rest mate and let someone else have a turn
although it did prompt me to go back an re-listen to Deloused... what a trip that reord is. great stuff. I wish they'd do a Don't Look Back set.
but the worst of all time? Damn, that's actually hard to call. I imagine it being somewhere in the vicinity of "Sussudio" by Phil Collins, or maybe even "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback. A mash-up of those two by some shitty DJ would probably be the soundtrack to my worst nightmare.
medulla to thread? anyway, it's got the style of his recent studio albums. i actually quite like it, if it was building to something. not sure whether in the context of a record it would sound more compelling.
anyway, worse peice of music ever conceived? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDWDWaVsfZo
JUST LOOK AT HIS SEXY DANCING!!!
don't think i could hack listening to mars volta ever again, but this is groovy
I'd never heard that. fucking abomination, and the beat is an absolute rip of NY State of Mind
and the guy on the till at HMV looking worried and going, "This is a bit mental, you mightn't like it. Just keep the receipt and bring it back if it's too mental" :D
That Deloused album was brilliant though, didn't bother with any of their others.
http://www.myspace.com/jezebelrockuk "rock and roll"
by the end there's a discernible groove and a semi-defined 'melody'. it's not something i'd listen to again but if this really freaks your dick then i imagine you don't get out much .
