Why do you have feelings for said song?
Lil Jon & The Eastside Boys - Da Blow
Well, it just about blew my headphones out and imploded my ear drums. And I had the stank face the whole time I listened to it: http://tiny.cc/euazl
what an absolute choon. I could listen to this all day, every day, forever.
for me to enjoy that song. It is one of those larger than life tunes tho.
but did on this one. I must love it
on a thread earlier today. I don't use the love feature too much either, I kind of forget about it.
The drum fill into the chord change never fails to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
you could chart how often i get stoned on the occasions that bardo pond & sabbath songs get loved on lastfm. the one before that was goodbye girl by squeeze which is clearly the best song ever.
SUNSHINE ON THE LINOOO AWOKE ME WITH A SHAYEEAYAKE
man, squeeze were so good
I'm sure that I've loved this before...my track-loving is pretty sporadic http://www.last.fm/user/jgjug/library/loved
Have enjoyed discovering this new band recently, good sound to them worth a check out!
I think you can listen to the whole of the track on their facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/thenovellos
or The Smiths. I take it this probably isn't a good place to start then?
I really don't know what it is about this song that makes it so brilliant.
Still some of the sickest synth sounds ever recorded.
That Lil Jon is a monster, sweet panning in that.
Da Blow is an aural trip, thats for sure.
literally the only link i can find online:
good song! i seem to only listen to music on my ipod nowadays and have abandoned last.fm. if this wasn't the case i'd probably have also 'loved' unsatisfied by the replacements. i keep listening to it
Cough syrup music. This stuff rips up that witch house business imo.
Because it's ace.
Off the new one?
But seeing as I know you definitely already know that track, here's one I did at exactly the same time:
Lorn - Glass & Silver
Just in incredible song in so many ways, and massively underplayed compared to some of his others. Everything from the funky guitar to the smooth voice to the lyrics is just perfect!
I am blind, and I cannot see
You are there, your petty evil don't bother me
I almosted started a thread the other day on the wonder of one note piano solos based on the last 30 seconds or so of that track.
Doesn't the piano bit just make the track though? It comes out of nowhere and is just so totally badass. PLINKPLINKPLINKPLINK Love it so much.
I love how that song starts out pretty awesome and then from the moment that lead guitar line kicks in just starts scaling previously unseen heights of awesomeness, kicking it up a notch every time you think they've surely ran out of notches to kick it up to. That piano bit is like them planting a flag right on the very peak of awesome*.
The only other song I can think of that pulls that trick off is Feel Good Hit of the Summer, but I'm sure there are others.
*Note to self: learn some more superlatives.
All the kicks this song has make it fantastic.
The strumming bit at the 1:50 mark also. <3
didn't have access to it :( I'd rather not get it digitally since that art work looks so good.
a) I'm a sucker for intrumental funk and
b) I over use the 'love' function on lastfm. Do I *really* love that track? I mean, I've only listened to it once while checking out a bunch of Daptone stuff. But it put a smile on my face and made my usually hard to shift hips start moving so it's probably worth a heart.
Someone on here mentioned them not long back as it happens and I checked The Budos Band III out and got hooked. Hence the trawling the Daptone back catalogue: I'd ran out of Budos stuff to grab.
I had no idea The Daktaris were part of the Daptone stable too. I love those guys.
Well, a tip of the hat to you then good sir. I spent a large chunk of the past week grooving about the flat & strutting down streets to their stuff.
I don't really bother to 'love' tracks, so you might as well have my other 5.
David Holmes – Don't Die Just Yet, April 2009
DJ Mujava – Township Funk November, 2008
The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster – I Could Be An Angle, May 2008
Tom Vek – I Ain't Saying My Goodbyes, May 2008
Ikara Colt – Sink Venice, May 2008
The David Holmes one is a pretty close take on Nelson.
Of course you are:
I had no idea that existed. Thanks!
Someone on here was on about how good dog man star was - made me remember how awesome it is.
but if I did, it'd probably be this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fichp4N7Cao
Because it's frickin' awesome.
DJ Screw – My Mind Went Blank [Point Blank]
fair-does. good song.
is Les Rallizes Dénudés – Night of the Assassins April 2010
which is pretty fucking ace.
was late coming to this band but man i love this track. i dont 'love' that much either.
pure power. this song is like trying to win a race with a really fast car. and losing, obviously
quality wall of sound shoegaze. So good.
