I really need to finally listen to The Bees Made Honey...
It's like, cowboy-Earth, which is as cool as it sounds. And Karl Blau's on the new one huh? Interesting.
Bill Frisell plays on most of Bees Made Honey, which is always a good thing. AND... the artwork is absolutely perfect, one of my all timers.
I haven't heard anything from him since Bees, and album he did a couple years earlier with Ron Carter and Paul Motian, which was awesome.
I have probably heard about 25% of his output, which is still quite a chunk. Intercontinentals, East/West, Have a Little Faith are all good.
He's a strange guy, super nice but a little distant and spacey. He doesn't like to be the main guy, he will usually just stand by the drummer and just kind of be there, playing amazingly without much emotion or movement. He gets such a distinct sound with his guitar, and all that vibrato from just bending the neck with his hand.
and a tour which will hopefully call in on Bristol again.
I can't remember who it was now.
He reviewed the re-issued Earth album a few weeks back.
