Is this possible or do radio stations/reviewers still expect physical CDs?
and get yerself a plugger. CDRs are fine fro duh promos.
I was hoping to do it within my budget. Which is approximately 0 pounds and 0 pence...
Good reviews are very nice things indeed but don't seem to have an huge impact on sales and, given I've definitely not got the money to hire a PR and plugger and mass promote it, I just wonder if spending a small amount of money is going to be any beneficial than just sending emails out for free...
if you go at it without physical cds. Alot of areas are starting to go green esp fanzines
It's a lot harder to get people's attention!
I'm quite tempted to do it just on principle. As far as I can see there's no practical reason why magazines and websites necessarily need physical promos so it feels like a waste of money, a waste of environmental resource and an outdated anachronism.
I don't know WHY THE HELL Domino send me all the singles they ever release, given I don't review singles. Such a waste of time. Sure, it's "nice" to have the physical copy but I only copy the album to my computer/mp3 player and stick the CD at the back of a cupboard, so it's fairly pointless.
Still, most newspaper writers demand physical copies and, as you say, it's harder to get people's attention with just an e-mail.
something about 'much like your music'...
(but i haven't heard it so that would be unfair)
Please do not print this song.
