few surprise choices
it's the 'best sounds' they heard in 2010
whoops, really was half-asleep when i read it
No idea why, I'm not sure why I care what people in bands like and listen to, but I always seek these out come November time.
The Duffy choice reminds me of when the NME did one of these in (I think 2000 or 2001) and managed to get Michael Jacksons Top 10 of the year. His list was ridiculous, and had old singles and I think classical pieces. The only album I can remember being on there was 'Parachutes'
Or was it just that it was all over the radio in Australia last year but somehow not released in the UK to 2010? Or is Mr Green immune from the criticism Duffy receives?
but Patrick Wolf, what a Cunt.
thus shouldn't be allowed to choose their album, just a thought :)
That sentence made me want to shoot my own brains out
PS, Tune-Yards is brilliant...but "indie Amy Winehouse" - What the fuck does that mean?
Zane Lowe manages to pick an artist that hasn't even unofficially released more than about 5 songs this year. Radio 1's musical relevance at its best.
"The new Bring Me the Horizon record, There is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There is a Heaven, Let's Keep it a Secret, blew me away. It is one of the best metal records I have heard in years: jam-packed with ideas and energy, and, most importantly for a metal record, the vocals don't make you cringe. There is real soul and passion bleeding out of all 12 orifices (or songs, if you prefer). Unrelenting and inspiring."
Broing Me the Horizon? Jesus wept.
