really not impressed.
obviously can't complain seeing as its free and all, but this is definitely not his finest work
I just though all the songs were so weak - really scrappy offcasts. There were a couple of instrumental tracks I liked, but that was it. And I think Logos is a classic album.
Only on track 2. Really like the fact that just over half the album was recorded this week, pretty inspiring.
I don' think he's capable of making anything that is not worth listening to
to all the free stuff he's given out over the years?
(except for some earlier tracks which i couldn't get myself) should still be up there!
and now there's two more. I CAN'T KEEP UP, MR SOUND.
They're mostly of a certain type but it works. Shit like Yards Of Silk, Lanterns, Wintergreen Sketch, Moonroof, Postcard, Afternoon Drive, Comet 8, La Luna just evokes, for me at least, something difficult to place but they're all so...err...pretty in their own way.
at the end is fucking killer.
I am all over this
I go three days without checking their blog, and look what happens! Just listened to the first volume, lovin' it. The boy just cant stop writing songs.
Most of the tracks are sketches, ideas, and demos. Was that redundant?
Also, 90% of these pieces probably wouldn't have seen the light of day in past eras of music. The only artists whose archives would get this kind of treatment would be folks like The Beatles, Dylan, etc.
What Bradford is doing is awesome. Treating us to some of the best indie records of the past 5 years (notably Halcyon Digest, still my 2010 AOTY) and supplying us with plenty of knick-knacks in the meantime. The sheer amount of non-album material (may they be demos, covers, or otherwise) available for free on their blog is astounding. Nevermind the fact that, between them and their side projects, Lockett and Bradford have released almost 10 actual records since 2007.
We should be thankful.
Thats insane. Isnt that insane?
The quantity and quality of their records is incredible enough, and thats without all these demos and sketches. A lot of the previous Atlas Sound stuff he's posted is as good as his two LP's proper, its almost scary
