I'm off to somewhere with less trolls. Like the social board.
Ok, social board's out as well. Fine. I'm gonna build my own forum. With blackjack. And hookers.
TIme to balance it out with a few more Weezer threads.
why does that evil, irresponsible Jessie in Free Willy make the whale jump over the wall AND him. Surely it would be better if he stood to the side, and gestured for Willy to jump to his right? What a twat.
Besides which, he has freedom of thought and could have chosen to jump to Jessie's right, if he WASN'T SUCH A SHOWOFF.
Pertaining to the jump, surely Jessie is the instigator, and Willy is reticient- he is bound to follow the leader. Jessie knows this. Jessie always knows. The curly haired twat.
Willy is a killer whale...it's in the name.
"Urkkk, what a mess."
just when I thought the internet-geek level on the DiS boards couldn't get any higher....
for the record, there was an episode of Happy Days where a guy literally jumped over a shark. And it was the best one.
oh dude, I know this, line from a TV show (Community) but out of context faux misunderstanding, contrived naivety and plays on the cultural values of different generations just comes across as misunderstanding and stupidity. My bad.
you know, jumping the shark for music....
Cut Your Hair was Pavement's sharkjump. Someone woulda been in for a slapping, and as I'm on my own that would have been a bit weird.
Looks like his blog died a bit of a death soon after.
the more FREE threads, the better
and server space and bandwidth is all FREE, right, so what's the problem?
the more threads people are able to read on the forum, the more chance they'll maybe read a FREE main article.
who cares if DiS goes to shit cos of spammers and trolls? IT'S ALL FREE FREE FREE. people were making threads before DiS and they'd still make threads after DiS. i sometimes type stuff out and don't post it to DiS or expect anyone to read it.
"He's got a massive point"
But I'd have this'd nearly all of brightonb's posts by now if it wasn't for the fact that I can't get my head round his alleged* supermarket-centric robin hood activities in.
*I still struggle to believe he's telling the truth. At first, the 'I take the odd thing now and then' comparison to sneaking the odd download between bunches of purchases thing seemed like a humourous comparison. But I dunno. The HMV-hate does nothing to give me faith it is all a well-mainained ruse.
douchebag knew the score when he posted "an undeserved sense of entitlement - i'll just leave it at that" in 'the other thread'.
Downloading GBs of music, but not paying for it when the artists have requested that you (or haven't explicitly stated that you may DL), on the basis of 'EXPOSURE' have 'an undeserved sense of entitlement'.
The way major record companies went about their business for the 80s and 90s and the most part of the 00s displayed 'an undeserved sense of entitlement'.
Any duff artist who automatically expects to make a living out of music has 'an undeserved sense of entitlement'.
You want something, you earn it. If you're assuming that a band doesn't mind if you freeload their stuff cos you know that if you contact them directly and say "sorry I spent my money on other stuff, but can I download your album for free anyway?" cos you know they'd be likely to tell you to stop being a cheeky fucker... you have 'an undeserved sense of entitlement'.
and then refusing to respond to PMs are killing messageboards.
And it's not pretty.
I wouldn't blame sean if he shut up shop and told us all to get to fuck for not being able to display any sense of maturity or common courtesy.
have made for grisly reading
Those threads got really long, really quick, I lost interest when things started to circle around. Got a little crazy on both sides.
You think anyone will actually change their opinions after the last couple of days on here? Since becoming a part of these forums a couple years back, I have become more conscious of my music consumption, and have found myself spending way more money on music (and also listening to way more in general). Could be that I got a job in the music industry around the same time, which helps to reinforce.
I didn't read it. I am clean
..the phrase itself has, well you know.
