I enjoyed it. It all seemed to much of a gimmick with all the posing and charging around though. I know they've always been "mental" live and all that jazz but it just seemed too contrived. Like they were playing up to what people expected. The other guitarist (not Ben) was a total tool. The crowd was also full of total peckers who went abosultely ape shit over all the shitter songs.
I haven't been to a show like it for many, many years. So yea, it was just weird. Ripped my face off at times though!
exactly the same when I saw them at the Barfly earlier in the year - it felt like they were playing up to what people expected of them. I'd wanted to see them for years and was a bit underwhelmed afterwards, especially as I was expecting great things due to the insanely small venue.
to but didn't bother in the end. I can't be bothered with the Waterfront really and I'd probably have been twice as old as everyone else there. Would like to have seen The Ocean though.
good in mac last saturday night, i have seen them play better in the past but they were still good . they all had the shittest halloween facemakeup on ive ever seen tho haha the singer bloke just looked like he had 'blacked up' obv he hadnt, it was supposed to be sum kind of beast and was at the start haha but after the sweat set in he jus looked black with red lips hahaha
thought they were excellent in Glasgow. Did anyone else go to the Glasgow gig? It was really fun and the whole crowd were going mental for every song. Everybody was really nice as well and made sure no one got hurt or anything.
FINISHING AT 9.45!?
They were tight, no theatrics, straight-up, no horseplay, almost minimalist fun.
I missed Rolo Tomassi - god knows what time they finished, I was there a little after 8.30 and missed them completely.
