really good. can't wait for this guy's album to come out (i think start of next year).
leaving records is a really wonderful label too if you've never checked it out.
this is a lovely track too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNj1BPscxMc
DL'ing now, just subscribed to this podcast, nice heads up.
i do not know why you would not want to listen to this
It's by far the freakiest thing Brainfeeder have yet put out, along with Ras G mebbe.
They're having a good start to the year, continuing where they left off last year. The Jeremiah Jae EP is outstanding as well,
which Jermemiah Jae is that? i've got eating donuts and other refined foods but nothing after that...
i was pretty keen on him ages ago, even started this thread.
unfortunately hasn't quite become a james blake/joy orbison 500-reply hitter.
there are some amazing moments spread over the two tapes but i'm not sure he's yet filled that potential. it's more about dem hunger/wanda group & ras g for this kind real abstract hip-hop, and then (sort of) matthewdavid, teebs, sumsun etc. for the slightly sunnier stuff.
and it is deeply odd. At times almost like GhostBox stuff, the way he just pastes sounds and textures together. But it is really cool. No-one is doing anything like it in hip-hop.
it's brand new then. i've not been keeping entirely up-to-date with brainfeeder but i'm make sure to cop that sounds great. hopefully be what i kinda hoped to hear from him back in jan '10.
Btw, on a Brainfeeder trip, any idea when the new Kutmah comes out? And have you heard that Austin Peralta record.... really something...
no and no, unfortunately. as i say i've not been tightly locked on this whole axis recently, but i'll go try and rectify that now.
