So nobody here can ever like them any more, yeah?
You Brits will always like them no matter what. Go ahead and adopt them already, damn. Walkmen, too.
talk about yer dad-rock...
where I said I expected Q Magazine to fully get behind these guys and treat them like their new Coldplay / REM. (Most of) you laughed.
Wouldn't stop me liking them though, even if Q do. Or REM. Or Coldplay.
And nor should it you.
Unless they start making shit records every Christmas, that is...
I'm turning into Paul Morley...
Hey since when did REM get lumped in with Coldplay? I have a softspot for their more recent stuff, but their decade worth of albums are enough to make them immortal.
Also yeah I love the National, this is uncool
that said who cares about cool :/
first decade I should be. Murmur onwards
that should be
I am typoing a lot atm
there's no need to be guilty about liking any band that can make a song as good as Cherry Tree
I forgot to get that indie memo, spose it's becaus you're so incredibly indie
Now a bunch of fucking clueless cunts who drive Saabs are going to "discover" this band and ruin them for me. Q just fuck off and stick to your Mark Ronsons and Coldplays...
The National, but massive LOL at anyone who thinks that they're above Q's target audience. they're hardly a left-field band
yeah that's fair enough, they're not left field, but they are good which is an important distinction
My problem with Q is that they want to give everyone a pat on the back, well done for trying
But when they released 'Troublegum' and 'Screamager' hit the CHARTS he instantly renounced them and sold me their entire back catalogue dead cheap (I got pleasuredeath and babyteeth on vinyl for about a quid each).
If any of you indier-than-thou bellends who are threatened or worried by this news want to flog me your National goodies for dead cheap them pm me yeah? I'll take them off your ever-so-hip hands.
'Q' type band. I don't really see the shock or outrage.
