How did this happen?!
It could be one of those show where half of the seats are closed. There's no way they'd sell out MSG.
Their last album went gold in the US.
they'll be big enough to play madison cube garden
It needs to be delivered in the style of a sneering, weedy 80's bad guy
well, two people dressed up as daft punk. could be anyone, couldn't it?
and Wavves were supporting them!
I think we should all be surprised at wee Wavves supporting. Wow.Zers.
Thought that Phoenix were doing very well in the US.
don't be fooled by the media that we've got
they're a bit of a big deal in america
p.s. NME, you back-tracking yet?
I noticed that Becks are advertising "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" on the side of their bottles in pubs at the moment.
the frat boys have discovered French dance-pop
i heard Wolfgang Amadeus Pheonix blaring out of a girls car yesterday at the lights
its a well deserved success
or outselling Pavement on a night they clashed etc etc etc
well I got this to say to you, they are a big deal amongst the 16 - 30 year olds and are ar arguably bigger in the USA then the UK + they have true crossover appeal.
Can I just clarify that I'm actually pro-pheonix. That's PRO PHEONIX. I like them very much.
Just a little surprised to learn that they were being booked into (selling out?) a 20,000 capacity concert venue normally reserved for the likes of KOL, Pearl Jam, Oasis etc etc.
BUT NOW I KNOW.
"Thou shalt not...." rar rar rar.
I went to the show last night. Phoenix was amazing put on a phenomenal show...Daft Punk came out for the encore too, such a great suprise! The place wasn't sold out but I would say it was very close. Hardly any empty seats and the floor area was packed out. I was suprised that they were playing @ MSG but I got tix right away.
Daft Punk asked Pheonix to support them at such a big venue.
