Thinly-veiled "christ the new Killing Joke album is awesome!" thread
look up the Muse yourself. or better, don't.
I mean, freaking behold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPN7EvbrCp0
How hard can you rip shit up before people notice? Also you are directed towards The Raven King and Fresh Fever From The Skies, possibly Here Comes The Singularity as well.
anything else? Not sure about the Muse comparison though?! Muse don't deserve to be even mentioned in the same sentence as KJ. Saturday is hopefully going to be great, Young Gods in support too.
Was just a device to promote KJ. I've not really discovered this band until now but they're really good, aye. Wasn't expecting anything but have been pleasantly surprised!
But I like these Killing Joke tracks.
I will be after this. Nice.
Is one of my favorites this year. I was listening to it on the way in this morning and it had me thinking about how established “older” bands can still make relevant music. In my opinion it doesn’t happen very often but can certainly be said for Killing Joke.
In the 90’s when Pandemonium came out, their peers were band’s like Ministry, (Invisible Records roster)etc.. who try so desperately to still be relevant.
Justin Brodrick, I think, fits well with this analogy. Although Godflesh could be considered “’dated”, he took his previous sound and made it more palpable and congruent with modern indie/shoegaze/metal music while still holding onto the fundamentals that made Godflesh such an amazing project. I think Killing Joke did the same with their new album.
And the best song IMO is In Excelsis
