any good live?
But I really enjoyed them when I saw them. Depends a lot on what the current band are like.
I think it probably also helped that I didn't know much Fall at all when I saw them.
which tends to antagonise them/make everything sound worse.
he also managed to get completely wrapped up in his microphone wire to the extent that he had to be unravelled by his wife when I saw them in Birmingham this year. Great stuff.
band ever... Sense of malice on stage is great
perhaps unsurprisingly. Worth going just to see MES' amp-fiddling antics, even if tickets to see them tend to be not far short of £20.
they are playing in leamington spa soon and i am thinking of going
that's kind of the appeal (for me anyway). That said the last 3/4 I have been to over the last year or so have been great, MES not too off his head and the band have been really tight. The fact this current line up have managed to stay intact for over 3 years now has helped of course. GO!
at Summer Sundae this year, though I didn't see the whole set. MES played a hideously tuneless solo on the keyboards during the last track which made me laugh. I hadn't seen them for 20 years, but will go next time they are in town.
and their set at pavement atp was among the best i've ever seen. the band and new material were tuff and MES vocals were much less mumbly than i expected. PSYKICK DANCEHALL.
the 6 times i've seen them so far, and the current line up is really tight, I suppose they have had the opportunity to play with each other for a much longer time than half the fall line ups!!! I'll be attending the Leamington Spa gig, fantastic venue, saw the Fall there last year, MES caused one hell of a tangle of microphone cables, mic stands across the stage, which must have took a while to untangle afterwards.
