According to several people on Twitter. Well done, London.
Venue not finished apparently and council wont let it happen as I understand? The photos they posted last week made it look like launching tonight was a bit of an ask.
I think it's a stone throw from my office though
future of the left on friday doesnt get cancelled
is a pretty good indicator they don't really know how to run their operations yet. JUS' SAYIN'.
I hope they get it up and running though and things working smoothly, because a new venue is never a bad thing and there were some interesting looking shows. Looked like a good replacement for Barden's (RIP)
Capacity 800? Or does it have a smaller room as well?
Wonder what went wrong. They posted an update at about 3pm this afternoon asking if people were excited - must have been something they obviously weren't expecting.
"With regret, XOYO is having to postpone its launch tonight due to unforeseen technical issues at the venue.
XOYO apologises sincerely for any inconvenience this may cause people planning to attend this evening
The team are aiming for this to be resolved within the next 24 hours and all ticket holders will be refunded.
More information will be announced shortly on the opening of the venue."
"and what i mean when i say we haven't finished it yet is that the bar isn't finished, the stage isn't finished, there are no lights and no fire exits yet and a team of carpenters/plumbers/workers were still there at 6pm tonight."
Think that's what they mean.
is being moved.
And that Dan Deacon tonight is now at Fabric.
Or is that the 'Transgressive Pary' ? I'm confused and can find nothing anywhere but that's probably just me.
I asked one of the builders if it was going to be ready for tonight tonight and he said he hoped so and laughed how they were meant to be open on Saturday but knew that wasn't going to happen
Place is obviously run by amateurs, just hope they can get their shit together as they seem to be booking some good gigs. No surprise that there seems to be some link between them and the Field Day promoters.
Field Day has been run fine over the last couple of years?
but functional, compared to earlier years.
Field Day was appalling when it started up, so no surprise this place will have lots of teething issues when it starts ie no stage, no bar , no lights, no floor, no walls, no ceiling etc
funniest thing i've read on here for a while
to make the annoucement at 5pm on the same evening is a joke.
Some good bookings so trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, for now!
British Sea Power show at Rockfeedback's Party on Friday will now be at Electroworks instead of XOYO. Original tickets valid.
Just around the corner from Angel underground station.
Which will probably be a bit different from this show. And the last one I went to there was over a year ago. But I do quite like it in a grimey dive venue sort of way.
It's a great venue and I actually saw British Sea Power there 5 years ago.
