Erasure
The best reason for being absolutely delighted that I wasn't born in the 80s.
I feel automatically more priveleged than anyone who had to share a decade with them.
Erasure = 0/10

Bumsnogger
The Golden Virgins
Gay Dad
Blatant "I am young" thread
:-D
Weren't they not more early-mid 90's
I dunno, is just remember seeing them on telly and feeling scared, very scared!
a little respect
is one of the best songs ever
chorus
is a classic album
and Oh L'Amour is THE best song ever
They're OK
Definitely not the worst thing ever. Next!
I loved them at the time. I was 6 admittedly.
Not really gone back and listened to them. If memory serves they've some good songs.

I feel automatically more priveleged[sic] than anyone who had to share airspace with him.
wrightylew = clarkson/10
forever a cunt then
Erasure were fine. Clearly not mod / Kasabian / bloke friendly so you're not going to find much to like there.
They're gonna get more popular in the next year/2 or so - enjoy that! The hypnagogic trend is going that away.
What?
We have them to thank for some amazing pop songs.
My God, you younglings eh?
I fucking love Erasure.
so you were born in the 90's then?
i can think of many shit bands from the 90s that are worse than erasure haha
Erasure were fucking BRILLIANT.
I love/d them. Great band.
Nope
Nice try though
Its True
And partly the reason I will defend Hurts. Both scratch my pop itch in similar ways.
Really? 0/10?
Sure, some of their songs are annoying and Erasure certainly are not my favorite band, but Vince Clarke is a fucking synth genius. Some of the shit he did on Chorus is breathtakingly awesome. A lot of the lo-fi/chillwave/whatever-the-fuck artists would do well to explore Erasure if they haven't already done so.
Oh, and sharing a decade with them was far more rewarding than growing up with some of the recycled pap that passed for music in subsequent decades.
You can't escape Bros though
They were alright.
No Pet Shop Boys though.
I love to hate you
It doesn't have to be this way....
Oh leave 'em alone! Yes they were a bit naff & the last few albums were pretty dire but some of their early stuff was really good. As already mentioned I bet a lot of current 80's copyists owe a lot to them. Nuff said.
I have never
listened to an Erasure album so (unusually) my opinion is worthless on this one. Interesting debate though.
Vince Clarke: Depeche Mode, Yazoo, then Erasure
Indisputably the synth guvnor.
The full prog isn't available at the mo, but...
