I like free music, I'm pretty penniless at the moment, so been downloading albums/EP's available for free online.
Anyone recommend any?

though a lot of it is electronicy stuff - but worth a listen.
Tri Angle Records Presents: Let Me Shine For You
They always have loads of interesting stuff on there. Try starting with the WFMU sessions.

awful shit. Do you actually listen to this stuff?
The other two are just streaming.
and kowloon walled city are a good noise rock band from san francisco that do the same
We give alway all our music for free under a Creative Commons license - literally GBs of stuff avaliable. I recommend Ga'an, Talk Less, Say More, EL Heath and the DiS tipped Elapse-O.
http://recordsonribs.com - sorry!
As a proper online label it's been going for a few years now, although stuff has been coming out from there since 2001.
Most of the music is Creative Commons. Start with The Resonance Association, Sven Plural, Orphidice or maybe go for the "manifesto" compilations and work back from there.
hip-hop, electro-jazz, experimental, post-rock, dubstep
