In the Manchester Evening News Jez said "The Warehouse Project is our last gig"
Is this the end? I'll be gutted...
would be a shame
was going to see them at the ice cream festival but my friend organising it picked tickets for the day they weren't headlining (and scouting for girls were) :(
"It's nice just to have a bit of breathing space. We just wanted to get off that whole album-tour-album-tour treadmill. None of us are ready to face going into the studio for another two years. This is wiping the slate clean, we have nothing else in the vaults now. That is it. Whatever we do from now on will be a new start."
"None of us will stop writing. I'm writing now, if you get an idea you put it down. There's things that I have had for a few years that maybe weren't right for Doves that I'm just making sense of now. I'm enjoying writing with different hats on. I think we need to do this just to recharge the band. We are just stockpiling stuff for whatever it is we do next."
Etc. Long interview. So break from Doves, possible solo stuff, possible collaborations (including one with Guy Garvey), etc.
The last lp they did for me was the weakest thing they had produced and it wasn't even bad either!
