Anyone going to this tonight? Any idea of stage times?
told Avi Buffalo 7.45 and Walkmen 8.45 which seems very early
Look at that rain!
This will be my fourth time - The Bowery Ballroom from 2006 will take some beating, but I believe in them!
Love this band
Ive been looking forward to this gig for months. I can't tell you how much i adore this band. It finally comes around and i'm surrounded by a bunch of absolute cunts talking amongst themselves throughout the entire show.
WHY WHY WHY do people go to gigs just to stand around and chat really loudly to their mates?
Exact same thing happened to me last time I saw the Walkmen in Birmingham. Had the misfortune to be standing next to the support act's mates, who basically talked shit all the way through. Unsurprisingly, the support act in question were laughably bad. Think earnest, sub-par Cast. Further unsurprisngly, the Walkmen were great.
Cos they're thoughless twats.
I was amazed at how much talking went on. I can only think there were a lot of free tickets floating around.
First time I've seen The Walkmen and they didn't disappoint. Avi Buffalo were really good too I thought. Don't suppose anyone has the setlist?
I've been fortunate enough to have seen The Walkmen live numerous times and they are always superb. We were at the front, and thankfully not surrounded by the twats mentioned above (apart from a crazy 7 ft Bez lookalike who appeared during the Rat)
The new songs sounded great, Lisbon is shaping up to be one of my albums of the year.
Never noticed before how much the keyboard player looks like David Cameron.
interviewed the band before hand, all nice guys.
They played New Country, was chuffed at that, I love that song...
Unfortunately there was a bit of talking during that, annoying! I was miles away from everyone at the side of the stage and could hear it ! Very good show though, new stuff growing on me.
while they were generally a bit obnoxious, not moving out the way when asked nicely etc., can someone please explain why it would ever be acceptable to chuck a pint of beer all over a girl standing next to you? There was some right quality there last night.
that 'cheered' when The Rat was played and then subsequently left was amazing. I think The Walkmen should add a disclaimer that they're not going to play it to discourage the idiots. Excellent start to the gig I thought - the 3 new ones (Blue as your Blood sounds like something from a Western soundtrack) plus On the Water and In the New Year was awesome.
They're playing tonight in Kingston, with Surfer Blood in support, for a fiver! Pick up on the door.
Yeah, it's a mission to get there, but FFS, £5!!!
NB: I am in no way affiliated with Banquet, although I do like their shop. Just saw this one on Last.fm, thought I'd share.
