One date so far
Tue 16 Nov 2010 Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
Anyone got any more news on this? Wish I lived in Leeds I bloody love The Brudenell but they'd better be playing in London too.
So looking forward to seeing them again, the last time they were over for the Christmas show it was amazing.
Just Like Christmas + Walk Into The Sea = <3
so far this year seen Johann Johannson and Bonnie Prince Billy at that church, and now this. Fucking spot on! I love the promoters!
Will came into The Tin Angel whilst I was washing dishes for the Green Room, and we shook hands and exchanged pleasantries - was pretty fucking surreal.
that's insane. I'm so there. Low, Casiotone and The National in Coventry in the space of a month... and to think I complain about the music scene around Warwick Uni.
You'd think that they'd like to promote something for the students, but they don't like doing it too often when it's not on their doorstep.
I mean, I don't think more than a handful of people I know know that The Tin Angel or Taylor John's House even exist, but if they don't let you flyer then it's no wonder.
"A new album is finally being released at the beginning of 2011 – there’s a distinct possibility that some of the tunes can be heard during [this show]"
This is the longest the band have gone between albums I think, so I was hopeful that one was coming sooner rather than later
already have belle and sebastian tickets for december - all i need is for elliott smith to come back from the dead - :'( - and i'll be able to see my top three all-time favourite acts in the same year.
Like the Thekla, in particular.
needs Bristol. And Bristol needs this tour.
kmart had better not be pulling my tit
is junction 2.
seetickets has october for cambridge - gigantic has nov. either way tickets are on sale
Low at the Thekla would be a dream come true.
i'm not holding my breath now... we londoners never get any good shows :*(
but can someone post all the dates so I can figure out where I can best see them? Please?
and leeds 16th nov? i guess that one of these months is wrong and they aren't actually doing a mega-tour
Cambridge is most likely 15 Nov.
It was excellent. I hope they do come back
I had a Twitter update from The Thekla saying they were announcing a few new gigs but no luck so far.
i haven't been able to go to a gig for quite a while, then all these great gigs in leeds (this, spoon, caribou etc etc) all are happening after I leave for Uni...
Might need to strategise.
i have tickets for Cambridge! Thank you DiS for the advance warning.

no London date???
i love it when there is no london date!
Well, we love it when the provinces flood, have to fight for train connections to the capital and are subjected to swingeing public spending cuts that result in massive unemployment cos none of you have any skills any more thanks to previous governments' deliberate dismantling of our manufacturing industries.
And yes I am bitter. And no I don;t really mean any of this. And fuck you.
so it's all gravy!
and yep, I'm just bitter as millions of bands i've wanted to see only play gigs in London so it makes a nice change!
Why would a band come from another continent and not play when they know for a fact they could do a sell out date in a/this city. Doesn't make any sense at all. Plenty of time and space for a London date too. Patience y'all
on the basis that if it gets said enough it will happen.
My house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house my house.
the last train back to London is 23:15
10 minute walk, I usually have no trouble getting back for my train at 23.10. Except when the Fall didn't come on until 10.40!
It's about time Cambridge had some decent gigs, things have been pretty poor lately, especially the Junction
but im going, so you should definitely head up (y)
Come on, somewhere in Scotland (or even the nother of England) please!
think it's a jaunt to cambridge then, why do the trains back to london take so long?!
National Express do a coach service back in... better off kipping somewhere and heading back in the morning
The best i have seen them (being in a church may have helped) but yes, lovely stuff.
they were great in Cambridge - the playlist seemed a bit odd though - almost like they'd just picked songs at random from their last four albums. would have been nice to hear a couple of pre-"things we lost..." tracks
they played 5 new songs plus the rest almost exclusively from Drums & Guns and The Great Destroyer
and loved it, the stuff they played from Trust was massive. Best gig I've been to this year.
they played lots from Great Destroyer, and a couple from most of their other albums. In terms of pre-Things We Lost stuff we got Lullaby and an absolutely incredible Two-Step.
you see everything
just stand back
little argument with myself
last night i dreamt somebody loved me
on the edge of
Said it was a perfect fit for them. Packed away and went straight home, thus missing Trumpets of Death at the Tin Angel afterwards - did anyone here see them? Were they any good with the drum machine?
