And then there's The Promise Ring itself, which I got bored of quickly enough when the first few records landed, but then fell in love with at Wood/Water. And they of course went off to create Owen, American Football, Maritime - all solid US Indie gold.

Get Up Kids deserve a mention, although in truth I loved STWHA, even so, On A Wire, for the most part, was wonderful, and showed off a lot more than I think anyone had been expecting, although I suppose the New Ams were already about at that point.
