you are well stupid... if you read the article (which I had to due to the amazing standard of journalistic talent) you'd notice that Eeeeeface(Eavis) says he is "THRILLED" to have booked him. Thus there is only one conclusion...Michael Jackson has stood by his word to "only play Glastonbury when I fuckin' die baldy".
however, prince would be perfect for glastonbury. that occurred to me while i was watching stevie there on telly this year. so much so, in fact, that i thought maybe he already had. i don't imagine i'll go, though. never have.
he'd only do it for the money and if Eavis is keen on getting U2 back, I don't think they'd be the budget for both, unless 2010 turned a healthy surplus.
We got Purple Rain in the Rain last month at Werchter, in the mud and rain. Epic.
headliner budget is capped at £300k each. U2 did/will do it for exposure. If Prince wants to do it, he'll be doing it for the same reason.
in the last decade.
But a small part of my brain is telling me that Baldy's gone and booked Madonna...
Please. God. No.
OR Prince, but i'm thinking it'll be Bob Dylan.
I shan't be going. Meaning you fuckers will likely get:
Radiohead, Kylie, Prince, Scheer, Underworld and Girls Aloud on top form across the various stages.
aren't they due for a break as they do every 5 years?
They were going to have it next year, but deferred it until 2012 to coincide with the olympics.
