remember when he was amazing
then that album with the fancy dress came out and now what's he up to?
according to the version of me in that Frank Turner thread. I saw him for free courtesy of a DiS competition. He was really good!
Don't think I've listened to him since. So in answer to your question: no idea.
with just like piano and the guy from system of a down warbling in the background used to blow me away.
I haven't listened to it for about 4 years though.
I got NiggyTardust, which I quite liked. But, yeah, haven't heard of him since.
and has said he's been writing and stuff.
he's got a twitter that he posts on sometimes: http://twitter.com/saulwilliams
I think if you took the best tracks from each of the three albums you'd have a cracking record on your hands. hope he is releasing stuff and touring again soon - shame his self-releasing stuff didn't appear to be anywhere near as profitable as Trent Reznor's.
but the tracks that killed it on there really killed it.
He never did have the kind of following necessary to make self-releasing-pay-whatever-you-want-work for him
well, when i say "on" i mean he says about 10 words. Which is more than enough Saul for me
saw him two days in a row about 2 years ago, first supporting RATM and the next day his own show. Both were great, he's a showman!
I think he wanted to do some acting again, so perhaps he's doing that.
Saw him in Leeds in 2008 when he was touring Niggy Tardust. Not too sure what he's up to right now, but I did hear the rumour that he was writing another record. His self-titled and Amethyst rockstar were both great records.
and I don't really like it at all. Then again, I'm pretty sure that's him guesting on "Blazing Arrow" by Blackalicious and his bit on that is incredible.
So should I be getting on of his earlier records?
trent asked him to do a niggy part 2, and he said he had some non-niggy material as well.
Yeah! Niggy was so fucking fun and cool, and I just bought his dead emcee scrolls. His writing is so vibrant and inspiring. He won't be away for long, he's frigging Saul Williams!
Definitely present for that
that he was making a band with Ian Williams from Battles and the mysterious Paul Williams called Thrilliams. Watch some space.
