anyone else excited?
favourite Bowie record, still does the reissue offer something worthwhile that justify buying the album again?
...if you read the info, the 3cd version is pretty nice but the deluxe box set is very tasty. amazon stating an 85 quid price. the stones xiles boxset was like 100 and you got far less
to be grateful
to be late again
to be hateful
THE EUROPEAN CANNON IS HERE
Wish they'd do something like this with Low, I can only hope it's the next one to receive this treatment.
The first time I heard the album I thought, wow, this is really avant garde stuff... brutal... very minimal. After several minutes I thought, hmmm, a little too minimal. Turns out the record was skipping, but right on the beat. I probably sat through the same bar for five minutes before figuring it out.
It'll be nice for the Nassau show to finally get an official release, and that DVD audio disc looks great too. Not entirely sure that the single edits deserve their own CD, though.
David Bowie. Not a man afraid of the term DELUXE EDITION.
The vinyl deluxe looks super sexual. I imagine it'll cost a small fortune too.
the one album/era that needs the triple disc treatment (Young Americans + attendant Cracked Actor movie + *amazing* live '75 shows) hasn't had one.
still, you can't argue Station.. is still a classic.
buying the deluxe version is nice.
plus you get some cool shit with this one.
fans will always snap these things up to marvel at the packaging and sleeve notes plus live cd's and what not. It certainly looks good. I love that album but don't feel the need to get it again. The last boxset thang I bought was the 13th Floor Elevators one from last year and that had tasty hard back book in it plus re-prints of flyers and gig posters and 5 or 6 cd's full of extra's mono/stereo versions so thought it was a justified purchase as it's a delight to delve into it.
