The Ramones are the most conceptually perfect rock & roll band that ever existed. I think I would have liked them even if every one of their songs was rubbish, which is far from the case. I probably listened to them more than any other band when I was a teenager so I have no sense of perspective, but if there was one band I would have liked to have been in, it would have been that one in the CBGBs years leading up to their first record.

their first album is one of the greatest of all time
The rest of their albums follow the exact same template
to the point that they started to not bother disguising the fact.
Evidence: Psycho Family is a slightly rewritten Psycho Therapy.
The Law of Diminishing Returns hits the Ramones hard.
Still, without the Ramones, we would probably not have had Screeching Weasel or the Vindictives. Not in the same way.
For God's sake, they made three of the most perfect albums ever...
So what if they repeated themselves after that?
The 'so what' is that it quickly became boring.
And repetitive. And dull.
The first album /is/ a classic though.
